1984 Sikh Genocide : Sajjan Kumar gets anticipatory bail

The Dwarka Court on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 Sikh Genocide case. The court asked Sajjan Kumar to furnish a personal bond and surety bond of Rs 1 lakh each. The court had on Tuesday reserved the order on anticipatory bail plea in the 1984 Sikh Genocide case in which Sajjan is a prime accused.

He filed a plea in district court of Dwarka for anticipatory bail in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case that is being investigated by the SIT constituted by the Union Government along with the CBI. Harvinder Singh is complainant in the case who is witness in the murder of Sohan Singh and Avtar Singh at Vikaspuri in West Delhi during riots. Phoolka said Sajjan was summoned by the SIT but he just confirmed his name and nothing else. Thereafter, the SIT sought his custodial interrogation following which Sajjan filed a plea for interim bail.
