Malout: The court of Judicial Magistrate (First Class) Gurpreet Singh today awarded two-year imprisonment to Dinesh Garg ‘Tony’, former district president of the Youth Akali Dal (YAD), and his mother Madhu Garg in two cheque bounce cases. Besides, the court has ordered the accused to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 each.
Tony had a monetary dispute with his uncle Vinod Garg, who had filed two cases.
Vikas Setia, counsel for Vinod Garg, said, “Madhu Garg had given a cheque for Rs 49,37,750 of Axis Bank and Dinesh Garg had given a cheque of Rs 18.15 lakh of the Oriental Bank of Commerce, which bounced.”
Tony was earlier booked in a criminal case filed by his uncle Satpal Garg, who had alleged that Tony, his brother, a gunman and two friends had attacked him over a property dispute in July.
