Bollywood veteran actor Vinod Khanna was admitted to a Girgaum hospital last week due to severe hydration. He was admitted to NH Reliance Foundation and Research Centre in Girgaum on Friday. While his friends, family, and fans have been wishing him a speedy recovery, a picture of the 70-year-old in the hospital has gone viral on the social media. A pale looking Khanna was dressed in hospital uniform and was standing with his family members in the picture. While the doctors in the hospital have said that the actor is responding well to medicines, hoax messages of his death are going viral on WhatsApp, saying “Vinod Khanna passes away”. Earlier an official statement issued from the hospital said that Vinod Khanna’s situation was quickly brought under control and that he responded well to medicines. But according to messages being circulated on WhatsApp, the actor has passed away, which is untrue.

Vinod Khanna’s son Rahul Khanna was quoted as saying, “Dad was hospitalised on Friday (March 31) for severe dehydration. The situation was quickly brought under control, he’s doing much better and the doctors are looking to discharge him soon.” A Hospital spokesperson also said, “The actor was admitted to Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital on Friday with severe dehydration. He is under the care of our doctors and has responded positively to the treatment and is now stable”. The statement further read, “The doctors are looking to discharge him soon. Our family is most grateful for the extraordinary care he’s been receiving at the hospital and we are touched by all the good wishes pouring in. His family thanks his well wishers for the good wishes and requests to respect their privacy.
