Accusing AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal of taking u-turn twice on Sutlej-Yamuna Link Canal issue and claiming the right of Delhi and other states on river waters of Punjab, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today termed him the state’s “biggest enemy”.Kejriwal is the “biggest enemy of Punjab” as he had taken u-turn twice on the SYL issue and claimed the right of Delhi and other states on the river waters of Punjab, he alleged.
“Due to the anti-Punjab stance adopted by AAP, its political graph is waning and the party will not be able to open its account in the upcoming assembly elections,” Sukhbir claimed. He alleged that there is a secret pact between AAP and Congress for which a “weak candidate” has been nominated to fight in Patiala assembly constituency against Amarinder Singh. With an aim to become the Chief Minister of Punjab, Kejriwal has ensured defeat of AAP leaders Bhagwant Mann , Said Sukhbir Badal.

After failing to get ticket, Kanwaljit Singh Dua, In-charge Lok Sabha Halka, Aam Aadmi Party, Convener of Trade, Transport & Industry of Aam Aadmi Party today rejoined Shiromani Akali Dal at Delhi in the presence of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Ji Badal and SAD candidate from Atam Nagar Constituency Gurmeet Singh Kular.Dua had been an active youth Akali leader for about one and half decades before he joined AAP at the crest of its popularity in the wake of 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Interestingly, the SAD has unwittingly conceded that Dua is a classic case of the prevailing opportunist politics who like scores of others joined AAP only looking for a ticket. The official media note released today announcing Dua’s re-entry into the party, mentions that he was a ticket aspirant of AAP from Atam Nagar constituency.Though Sukhbir Badal welcomed him back into the party with a Siropa but Dua’s credibility has for sure taken a knock. Whether or not he would be seen a loyalty suspect in SAD remains to be seen but for now, the official SAD candidate and local industry leader Gurmeet Singh Kular has a reason to feel good. Kular said that presence of Dua would boost the party’s prospects in Atam Nagar constituency where he is pitted against sitting Independent MLA and a formidable opponent Simarjit Singh Bains. Dua’s exit from AAP would also weaken the party in the constituency, added Kular. It may be mentioned that Lok Insaaf Party floated by Bains has strengthened his position by forming an alliance with AAP recently.
