What Navjot Sidhu Says about Captain

Former cricketer and Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu is reportedly very upset over legal position taken by Congress-ruled Punjab in the Supreme Court in his three-decade-old Patiala road rage case last week. The Punjab government’s counsel endorsed the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s December 2006 verdict that convicted Sidhu of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Sidhi was awarded three-year jail term for for hitting 65-year year old Patiala resident Gurnam Singh by hitting him in his head in 1988.
In 2007, the sentence was suspended enabling Sidhu to contest Lok Sabha by-election from Amritsar. The star TV host feels completely let down by the state Congress leadership headed by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. The party sources also admitted that Sidhu, in a way, may not be wrong as when the HC order came in 2006, Capt Singh was CM. And he is again back in office.
The Punjab CM has also left the entire matter to the Supreme Court and feels it is up to the apex court bench to take a final view in the case.
