Badal injured in shoe attack at Lambi

A shoe was hurled at Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at his public meeting programme at Rattakhera Chhota village in Lambi constituency on Wednesday.A shoe was hurled aduring a janta darbar meeting in Bathinda.This is the second time when shoe has been hurled at the Akali Dal chief. In 2014, he was attacked at function in Isru in Khanna district.

According to Hindustan Times, Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, 89, was injured in the eye when a protester hurled a shoe at him during an election campaign at Ratta Khera village in his Lambi assembly constituency of Muktsar district on Wednesday afternoon.Eyewitnesses said Badal’s eye bled as his spectacles broke with the impact of the hit. They said he was immediately escorted out of the venue.The shoe-thrower was identified as Gurbachan Singh, sources said. He is a resident of Ratta Khera village. He was overpowered by the police and whisked away.
