81 new dengue case emerge in Mohali; count reaches 446

The total number of dengue cases in SAS Nagar has reached 446 with 81 cases reported on Friday. These patients had been getting treatment at GMCH Sector 32 for 10 ten days, but were reported to the SAS Nagar authorities on Monday.
Three deaths have also been reported, but the health authorities claim the situation is under control. In 2015, 544 dengue cases were reported till November, when the spread of the disease had started around August. SAS Nagar resident dies with dengue symptoms; 2nd such death in Mohali
“Eighty one cases have been reported as being under treatment at Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, over the past 10 ten days,” said Dr Ranjit Guru, civil surgeon SAS Nagar.
The maximum number of cases of dengue fever were reported from Phases 4 and 5, though patients also came from Phase 10 and Sectors 68 and 70. The health authorities are creating awareness among residents and well as government officials on maintaining hygiene.
