Son of Roadways GM killed in mishap

A youth was crushed to death at BSF chowk, Jalandhar, when the SUV he was driving collided with a loaded tipper that turned turtle over it . Deceased Ajeet Singh, 19-year-old son of Punjab Roadways assistant director Parneet Singh Minhas, was going to attend a tuition class at 6.45am when the accident happened.According to police, the tipper lost balance after collision and fell on the car crushing it badly. Ajeet was trapped in the vehicle with a serious head injury. Earth and gravel in the tipper also spread over the car and it took a lot of effort, including use of a crane, to extricate him.

Ajeet was still breathing and was rushed to the civil hospital in an ambulance but succumbed to his injuries as soon as he entered hospital. The tipper driver fled from the scene and was booked for rash driving, causing mischief and death due to negligence.The deceased was a first-year BBA student at Apeejay college and was living with his parents at Ladhewali. His father Parneet was earlier posted here as the general manager of Punjab Roadways and was presently posted at Chandigarh after promotion.
